HVRC Jumping Ring

Dear Hunters Valley Residents and Hunters Valley Riding Club Members:

Over the years, Hunters Valley and its riding club has produced many top equestrian riders due to its ability to create and maintain great riding trails and two wonderful riding rings which give everyone from beginners to advanced level riders an opportunity to ride and to enhance their riding skills.

I’m writing to you today because the riding club needs your help! Our jumping ring is located next to the Difficult Run stream and unfortunately has taken a heavy toll in recent years due to multiple heavy storms overflowing the banks of the stream, the rising water table beneath it and the wear and tear of regular use. As a result, it now requires major work.

These photos show the current condition of the ring and need for repair.

We have reached out to local contractors for proposals on how best to make changes to the ring to ensure its continued use by coming up with ways to help the water naturally flow without major damage to the footing. We believe we have a great proposal in hand which would include adding drainage under the current footing and creating berms to help the water flow around the ring as opposed to over the ring. After that we will need to reestablish the base with new footing. We are ready to move forward but we need help raising funds to pay for the work. The total amount comes to roughly $19,000 and although HVRC has some funds available to put forth it’s not enough to cover the entire amount.

We are asking everyone to please consider donating any amount since the jumping ring is an integral part of the neighborhood's equestrian lifestyle. Every bit will help!

If you are an owner or rider and are unsure of what would be appropriate to donate some suggested guidelines follow:

  • For a horse owner, please consider donating the equivalent of one month's board, feed and farrier expenses.
  • For those who take lessons, please consider donating the equivalent of two lessons

However, the Riding Club will certainly not restrict donations of higher amounts; and we appreciate donations of any size.

Funds can easily be donated online via credit card or PayPal by clicking on the "Donate" Button below.

If you prefer to send a check, please make it payable to "HVRC" and sent to the attention of:
